AROC National Events 2008

AROC Events Team will organise not one but three National Days during the 2008 season. This new approach will offer our Club members a diversity of memorable and exciting events from the static park and picnic meeting to a day of full throttle action.

Our ‘Season Opener’ will be held at The Historic Dockyard Chatham on Sunday 13th April. This will be our second visit to this spectacular maritime heritage site. The venue proved extremely popular with our members back in 2003, attracting over 500 Alfas.

On the 1st June at Stanford Hall in Leicestershire, the Club will be the guests of Auto Italia magazine at the Italian Car Concours. Here we will stage the AROC National Concours. This event will incorporate all the attractions and features of our traditional National Alfa Day along with large gatherings from Lancia, Fiat and Lamborghini. This combined with the Maserati Club’s Concours and the Ferrari Owners’ Club will ensure that the Auto Italia Concours will be host to some of the finest Italian cars in the country.

Subject to final confirmation from the venue, on Sunday 31st August, we are organising an exciting new event - AROC Live. This will be an all-action day for the whole family and very much geared towards those members who have requested an event where they can drive their own cars and see others in action. Working in association with Javelin Trackdays, the full and varied programme will include circuit time with free instruction and hot laps, timed sprints, a road run, an autotest, karting and maybe during the lunch period, a pedal cycle race! Novices will be actively encouraged to participate in all the activities. Primarily AROC Live will be an event for ALL and we will help you enjoy your Alfa like never before!

Javelin’s policy is simple - to organise no nonsense driving days and afford you the opportunity to explore the on-track abilities of both you and your car in a fun, friendly, safety conscious and non-elitist environment. At a Javelin event, Supercars are not essential, just a sensible attitude and a love of driving YOUR car.

The local main Alfa Romeo dealer will have a full selection of new and used cars on display and for demonstration. A performance-tuning clinic along with a rolling road will also be provided. Although AROC Live will not be a park up and picnic event, provision and arrangements will be made for those members may wish to do so. A Saturday evening barbecue will be organised at a local riverside hostelry. Our plans are at an advanced stage and we hope to finalise arrangements in the coming weeks.
