 Slicks compared to control tyres
This might sound like a daft question, but do any of you have opinions on the difference slick tyres make over the control tyre on a mostly production spec car (roughly 950kg and 180bhp). Is it sub seconds per lap or seconds per lap (assuming a decent driver unlike myself that is..), or is it not that simple to compare?
Thanks...

Thanks Neil, other than some lowered GAZ coilovers, suspension and geometry is as it left the factory.
Do slicks heat up differenlty also, I assume that will also be affected by overall setup?

really depends on what slicks your using some need lots of camber some dont, slicks will be quicker than control tyres but if you want the best from them you have to set the car up too them eg. roll centres castor toe camber spring stiffness roll bar stiffness all sorts of varibles
